Kannawidan: Reliving History of Ilocos

              Kannawidan is an event held in Vigan to celebrate the separation of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, It is held on the last week of January to the first week of February. It includes the cause of events in the commemoration of the foundation day of the province.

              Kannawidan is a Festival for all Ilocanos which showcases historical traditions of Ilocos. The festival hold various events which includes street dancing, food festivals and many more. The festival is also a show of the province’s trade and agriculture products, and is a livelihood training ground for women and students through the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Agriculture. The old and the new in Ilocano culture are both featured in this year’s Kannawidan Ylocos Festival.

             This Festival is celebrated every year. It is a festival meant to commemorate and help us remind the culture of ilocanos so that we will never forget our history and how it was made. It is always important to recall the past and relive our history in order to preserve it in the modern world.

ISNHS Foundation Day

          Ilocos Sur National High School just celebrated its 117th Annual Foundation Day. This school has been around for so long that the school just has to celebrate its success and to commemorate the founding of the school.           This year's celebration was held on the 1st and 2nd day of March. The celebration was a blast and almost all of the students enjoyed it. Pretty much all the students enjoy Foundation day as if it was their birthday. Before the foundation day, a lot of preparations are made. All the rooms completely cleaned, decorate all the buildings with tassels and banners, balloons etc. And we cant forget about the preparation of the field demo where all the students and teachers get to part take in a dance for each grade level to celebrate Foundation day.
